Wow. This March will make 4 long years of Rest0re.org greatness. First off, we'd like to welcome everyone to a happy New Year. The Rest0re team has big plans for 2009, and we've already begun. Lets get all the updates out of the way:
1) First on the list, is the addition of a new team member *drum-rolllllllllll* Phunkedelik!
Hes been an old and loyal member of Rest0re.org for quite some time, and we all agree that his great and innovative ideas, will be a welcome and refreshing addition to the team
2) Next, we've got the addition of the Wiki We've begun adding articles to it, and everyone is more than welcome to make contributions.
3) We've already gone through and let go some of our less productive (ie: Not active in over 9000 months) admins and moderators. We're tightening up the shift, and making final adjustments to Rest0re. We plan to come out in '09, guns blazing. Watch out for great things to come soon, as this is only the beginning...
4) And last but not least, we're currently going through the site, finding dead/out-of-date links on things, cleaning up the tutorials and giving the site an overall 'revamp'
Happy New Year once again from the Rest0re team, and we can't wait to unleash some of our new ideas. :)

We recently completed a move to our brand new server, which runs on FreeBSD. This server offers a handful of advantages over our old one. For one, we have root on it, which allows us to do lots of fun things like install software (I've discovered ports is pretty sexy); we can recompile the kernel too, which might come in handy.
We're also hosting gonullyourself.org now. They have a nice website, you should check them out.
I apologize if there were any issues accessing the site in the last few days, or if any issues emerge in the coming days. We're doing our best to get the server secured and running properly.

Harro Rest0re.
I've taken a few minutes and thrown together what can be called a radio station. If you're interested in listening, the address is:
s3rve.com:8000/rest0re
Note: Currently, it's only up when I'm home, as no other admins can access the server I'm using. We will be moving the stream to a more stable environment soon.

We have decided to move #rest0re to irc.binaryshadow.org
We hope to see everyone there.
Furthermore, we have decided to start the RTFM e-zine once again, so stick around for that.

Hey guys. adrian and I decided that after a little bit of uncharacteristic inactivity, it would be a good idea to try and draw in a few more users. We figured that the best way to appeal to the popular majority would be through the stunning visuals that make websites great. We were tired of the bland, old looking Rest0re, so we decided to spice things up with a few animated GIFs and Javascripts. Stop by the forums and let us know what you think. :D

EDIT
In case you missed it, http://www.rest0re.org/aprilfools
surprised some people were actually fooled =p
the wierd thing is that we got 400% more visitors than usual after the awesome layout was implemented

We've modified the main site somewhat with a new design that adrian came up with. Many thanks to Blazin for implementing it, he's much better with CSS than most of us. :D. adrian also designed and implemented the new forum style, which is very nice and fits the theme of Rest0re well.
Lately there have been some changes to the graphic department as well. You'll find the fluxbox themes are now much more organized, and now come with a nice rating system. Some of the old, more unpopular graphics things, like a few fluxbox themes, wallpapers, etc. have been removed. The scans in the phreaking section have been merged with the tutorials as well, and the tones were thrown out since they were basically useless.
